Interreg Joint brochure

Transnational cooperation has played a vital role in shaping the lives of EU citizens and their neighbors for over 25 years. Together, 13 transnational Programmes — including IPA ADRION — have joined forces to highlight the importance of their achievements across regions, cities, and inner lands, fostering stronger territorial cohesion. To showcase this collective efforts, we have developed a joint roadmap based on three core messages:

  1. Building solidarity beyond borders: Transnational cooperation brings regions and people together to address shared challenges — from climate adaptation to inclusive growth — fostering mutual understanding and a sense of European belonging.
  2. Achieving synergies for all territories: Transnational cooperation encourages regions and cities to pool resources, knowledge, and ideas, allowing them to co-develop solutions that have a broader impact across national borders.
  3. Delivering change through green and digital transitions: By testing innovative solutions in real-life settings, transnational cooperation helps pave the way for sustainable development and supports regions in adapting to the twin green and digital transitions.

These messages reflect our collective commitment to shaping EU policymaking and reaffirming the reasons transnational collaboration must remain a cornerstone of Europe’s future. This joint initiative continues with the Interreg Exhibition at the European Parliament (23–27 June), an event spearheaded by Interreg Volunteer Youths (IVY) from various transnational Programmes. Launched by DG REGIO in 2017, the IVY programme empowers young people to contribute to cooperation projects and promote European integration. The opening reception is scheduled for 24 June.
