The inaugural Stakeholder Meeting of the MISSION project took place on November 20, 2024 at the Politecnico of Milan, bringing together key experts and stakeholders from the transport sector. The event served as a platform to explore the transformative potential of Mobility as a Service (MaaS), focusing on the integration of mobility services—particularly public transport—by leveraging ongoing initiatives and achievements across Italian cities. The meeting featured a diverse group of participants, including representatives from industry, public administration, and academia. Among them were Giulia Rossetti from PluService, Luigi Osmetti from AMAT Milano, Salvatore Di Dio from the University of Palermo, and Simone Caiello from the University of Milano-Bicocca. Additionally, the Secretary General of the Forum of Adriatic and Ionian Cities (FAIC), Councilor Anna Maria Bertini, contributed her vision for innovative strategies to address the pressing challenges of sustainable mobility in the Adriatic-Ionian Region.
The event showcased groundbreaking projects and forward-thinking ideas poised to shape the future of urban mobility. Through collaboration and knowledge-sharing, MISSION aims to drive innovation and support a sustainable, integrated mobility ecosystem for the cities of tomorrow.
Mission Project: what are the expected results
The project focuses on integrating public transport services with shared vehicles, cycling and walking pathways, to make travel experiences seamless and more attractive. A Smart-App designed to deliver “door-to-door” customized travel solutions and provide information on level of service and safety will be developed with the active involvement of citizens and transport operators. The App will be tested in several cities of the Adriatic-Ionian Region.
Stay tuned for updates on the next phases of the MISSION Project and the exciting advancements in MaaS across the Adriatic-Ionian region!
