The European Commission has officially opened the doors for applications to the New European Bauhaus (NEB) Prizes 2024, marking another exciting chapter in the ongoing celebration of innovation, sustainability, and inclusiveness. This year’s event promises to recognize and reward 20 outstanding projects and concepts that embody the spirit of the New European Bauhaus. With prizes of up to €30,000 on the table, the awards can provide the boost to turn innovative ideas into concrete realities.
Apart from EU member states and the Western Balkans, for the first time, NEB extends its reach beyond EU member states and the Western Balkans, welcoming applications from Ukraine. The 2024 edition will honor Ukraine’s recovery efforts with ‘Special Recognition to Ukraine’s Reconstruction and Recovery Effort‘ awards. The NEB Prizes 2024 are committed to support EU regions that are particularly burdened by socio-economic constraints and are facing significant challenges in transitioning to a carbon-neutral economy. One fourth of the prizes will be dedicated to projects and concepts that play a pivotal role in positively transforming these regions.
The NEB Prizes 2024 will honor outstanding projects and concepts across four established categories: Reconnecting with Nature, Regaining a Sense of Belonging, Prioritizing the Places and People That Need It the Most, and Shaping a Circular Industrial Ecosystem and Supporting Life-Cycle Thinking.
The announcement of the NEB Prizes 2024 winners will take place at the New European Bauhaus Festival, scheduled for April 17 to 21 in Brussels.
