The Kick-off Meeting for the INTERREG IPA ADRION 2021-2027 project GRECALE (emerGency system enhancement for REsilienCe to nAtural risks and recovery from distastErs) was successfully held on December 10th, 2024, in Komotini, Greece. The event was coordinated by the Region of East Macedonia and Thrace (REMTH), the project’s lead beneficiary.
The project, with a total budget of €1.489.991,40 and a foreseen budget for REMTH of €234.036,00, is co-funded by the Interreg VI-B Interreg IPA Adriatic Ionian Programme (IPA ADRION). The focus of the project is to enhance the security and resilience of target areas against natural disasters, aiming to improve the capacity to respond effectively to emergencies.
The partnership includes REMTH as the lead beneficiary, alongside the following partners: Regional Agency for Irrigation Forestry Activities Puglia Region (Italy) National Confederation of Craftsmanship and Small and Medium Enterprises Abruzzo (Italy) Athena – Research and Innovation Centre in Information, Communication, and Knowledge Technologies (Greece) Varazdin County (Croatia) Agency for Development and Business Support Cetinje (Montenegro) Civil Protection and Firefighting Administration of Herzegovina Neretva Canton (Bosnia and Herzegovina) Public Enterprises “Parks and Greenery” (North Macedonia).
The meeting, held in a hybrid format, gave the partners’ representatives the opportunity to review key aspects of the project management, including the physical and financial objectives. The establishment of the Steering Committee also took place, with the appointment of its representatives.
