Youth4Regions: The Programme for Aspiring Journalists

Jun 19, 2025 | News

The European Commission has launched the 9th edition of Youth4Regions, a programme designed for students and young journalists interested in exploring EU affairs.

In October 2025, selected participants will travel to Brussels for a week of practical training, mentoring from experienced journalists, newsroom activities, and exclusive visits to EU institutions and media outlets.

This year’s call is open to applicants in three categories: general journalism, photojournalism, and video journalism. Eligible candidates include those from EU Member States, as well as neighbouring and candidate countries.

What are the requirements?

  • Interest in what the EU and Cohesion Policy are doing in your region
  •  Background in journalism (studies or up to 2 years of experience)
  • Aged 18 to 30, citizen of an EU or neighbouring country
  • Available from 11–17 October 2025

Since 2017, Youth4Regions has supported over 250 young talents in developing their skills, building professional connections, and learning more about journalism in the EU context.

All programme costs are covered by the Commission.

Applications are open until 7 July 2025 on the programme’s official website.
