The IPA ADRION Programme is organizing the event “Driving Digital Transformation in the Adriatic-Ionian Region: ADRION & IPA ADRION Programmes’ Response to Territorial Challenges” as part of the 9th Annual EUSAIR FORUM. This event will be held in Sibenik, Croatia, on 16 May, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
Digital solutions have become important tools in reducing social and economic disparities. Particularly in the Adriatic-Ionian region, that is characterized by significant gaps, the adoption of digital solutions by both public and private sectors have potential in addressing critical challenges across various sectors. Digital transformation has facilitated advancements in freight transport, public administration, resource accessibility, and the enhancement of citizen access to essential services like healthcare and social services.
About the EventÂ
In this event, the IPA ADRION Programme aims to spotlight the progress achieved in three specific sectors – cultural heritage, maritime sector, and health – through Interreg cooperation. The session will shed light on the role of innovation, particularly digitalization, in identifying solutions at local and transnational levels based on common gaps and needs. Additionally, potential follow-up actions within the IPA ADRION 2021-2027 Programme, such as replicability, scalability, and capitalization, along with their links to the EUSAIR Pillars, will be presented.

About the projects
During the session, three projects will be highlighted:
SI4CARE
SI4CARE Focused on social innovation for integrated healthcare services for the aging population in the ADRION Region, this project has facilitated the creation of a transnational effective ecosystem. It involves a joint collaboration networks and a shared strategy translated into regional action plans, with pilots in telemedicine and healthcare accessibility to healthcare facilities.
ADRINETBOOK
ADRINETBOOKÂ A project aimed at promoting, valorizing, and protecting cultural heritage in the Adriatic-Ionian area. Through the digitization of cultural properties- in particular books- and the creation of a network, this project seeks to make heritage accessible to a wider audience across Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Albania, Greece, and Serbia.
EUREKA
EUREKAÂ This project focuses on the development and harmonization of procedures and regulations in maritime safety. By the establishment of the Maritime Safety Permanent Transnational Network and modernizing systems, harmonizing Vessel Traffic Services (VTS), and introducing Sea Traffic Management Services, EUREKA contributes significantly to optimizing logistical processes in maritime transport and ports.

The 9th Annual EUSAIR FORUM– Shaping the Future of EUSAIR– will be held in Sibenik, Croatia on the 15 & 16 May 2024, organized jointly by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Croatia, the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds of Croatia and the EUSAIR Facility Point Project Partner, Ministry of Tourism and Sport of Croatian in close cooperation with the European Commission and supported by the EUSAIR Facility Point.
